Why I Re-signed With NDL for Baller League Season 3

In this episode I spoke openly about where I was in football at the time: playing for Burnham, thinking about the Premier League and deciding whether to return to NDL for another Baller League season. The decision was not only about appearing in more games. I wanted to believe the team could compete to win.

Football with Burnham

When I recorded the video, Burnham were in a tight title race with several clubs still in contention. I had joined because the club felt right for me, and I wanted to help the younger players in the group. Having taken a break from professional football, playing locally also made sense for my life away from the pitch.

That season reminded me that league position does not settle the next match. Teams fighting for a playoff place or to stay up have their own reasons to give everything. I talked about finding motivation and taking responsibility even when the fixture looks straightforward from the outside.

The NDL decision

Later in the episode, I confirmed that I had re-signed with NDL for Season 3. I had not played the minutes I wanted in the previous season, and I considered what a return would mean. After a conversation near the deadline, I felt the squad and the people around it had learned from the previous campaign.

I have always wanted to play to win. That mattered more to me than joining for attention or simply being part of the show. I believed the group still had more to show and that another season together could bring a stronger performance.

This article reflects what I said when Season 3 was approaching. For my later view of Baller League and why I moved on, see my video about leaving.
