Arsenal’s Champions League Draw: My First Reaction
When the Champions League draw came out, I wanted to look beyond the names on the bracket. A route to the final can look inviting on paper, but each tie has its own problems. In the video I work through the draw, the teams Arsenal might face and why a favourable route still has to be earned on the pitch.
Arsenal have the quality to compete with anybody when their structure and intensity are right. Knockout football tests more than that, though. One poor spell, one defensive mistake or one missed chance can change an entire tie. That is why I am excited about the opportunity without treating a place in the final as booked.
I also react to the other match-ups, including the prospect of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain meeting. These are my reactions to the draw as it stood when I recorded the video, not a prediction of results that have since happened. Tell me which tie you think will be the toughest for Arsenal.
