My Reaction to Benfica, Real Madrid and the Racism Allegations
The Benfica and Real Madrid match generated a much bigger conversation than the football. In the video, I react to the reported allegation of racial abuse, the way the match was handled and José Mourinho's response. I was angry about how quickly some of the discussion seemed to turn towards Vinícius Jr rather than the allegation itself.

There is a difference between discussing what a camera shows and claiming to know what someone said or intended. I was responding to the information available when I recorded, and I do not present an unverified allegation as an established finding. The people responsible for investigating the incident need to establish the facts.
My broader point remains: football should make it possible for a player to report abuse without becoming the subject of a character trial. Supporters, commentators and managers all influence that climate. We can debate the match while taking a racism allegation seriously and leaving room for a proper investigation.
