My First NDL Appearance in Baller League Season Two
I had to wait until week seven for my first Baller League appearance with NDL that season. Injuries and club commitments opened up places in the matchday squad. You never wish that on teammates, but when an opportunity comes, you have to be ready to use it.
Against Clutch, we went behind more than once and kept coming back. I knew my role: compete physically with their defenders, hold the ball up and help us get up the pitch. We won 5–4 late on, and I spent the closing moments protecting the ball in the corner. It was not the flashiest part of the night, but it helped see out the result.
I also talk through a chance I did not finish and a physical exchange during the game. Coming back into the side after weeks of watching was a reminder that preparation counts even when you are outside the matchday ten. You do not get much warning before your chance arrives.
