Thierry Henry, José Mourinho and the Vinícius Jr Conversation
Thierry Henry's response to José Mourinho's comments about Vinícius Jr made me stop and think about how football talks about racism. In this video, I react to that exchange and explain why I believe the focus should stay on the alleged abuse and the person reporting it.

Managers and pundits can discuss a player's behaviour or a match incident. But when an allegation of racial abuse is involved, the order matters. We should establish what happened, listen to those affected and avoid shifting responsibility onto the player who says he was targeted. That is the point I felt Henry made strongly.
My reaction is an opinion on public comments at the time of recording. An allegation should be investigated and reported accurately; a clip or a social media argument cannot settle every fact. I wanted to speak because Black players know how quickly the conversation can move away from their experience. Football can do better by treating these reports seriously and discussing them with care.
