Why I Spoke About Racism After Sittingbourne vs AFC Whyteleafe
I made this video after reports of racist comments directed at AFC Whyteleafe players during their match at Sittingbourne. I was not at the match. My reaction came from the recording and the club statements I discussed in the video, along with my own experiences of racism in football.

Why a recording mattered to me
In the video, I ask what might have happened if nobody had recorded the comments. I have seen how quickly an allegation can turn into one person's word against another's. A friend of mine reported racist abuse during a game we played, and I felt frustrated by the lack of an outcome. That experience is why evidence in this case stood out to me.
AFC Whyteleafe said its players had faced abuse more than once that season. Sittingbourne said it had removed the individual involved and banned him from the club for life. Those are the clubs' reported accounts of the incident and response; the video explains why I still have questions about how consistently football responds when there is no clear recording.
The wider conversation
I know clubs and organisations issue statements condemning racism. I also know how tiring it is for players to keep telling the same stories and wonder whether anything will change. In the video I speak bluntly about that frustration. My concern is whether players who report abuse feel heard and whether action follows even when an incident is harder to prove.

The person at the centre of this case does not need more attention from me. The focus should stay on the players who were targeted and on a process that they can trust. That is why I wanted to talk about the incident instead of simply moving on after a headline about a ban.
