A Goalkeeper’s View of Baller League and Playing With His Feet
At Baller League I spoke with a goalkeeper about what he had seen in the competition and how its smaller pitch changes the job. Low, quick shots demand sharp reactions. With fewer outfield players, a keeper also has to be comfortable receiving and moving the ball with his feet. He saw that as part of why the format can help a professional goalkeeper develop.

We talked about his experience with Chile, including the family connection through his father and the challenge of international football. Selection is different when you are used to starting for your club and still working towards a national-team debut. The answer was to stay ready and work each day.
To finish, I asked him to pick a six-a-side team from players he had played with. He chose a side full of technical quality, with Harry Kane up front. It was a fun way to learn which qualities a goalkeeper values in the players around him. The video's title mentions Alexis Sánchez; watch the full conversation for that part of his selection and discussion.
