Our First Goals for GOSH Tournament at Bromley
I went to Bromley to play in Goals for GOSH with a newly formed On the Bench Podcast FC side. We wanted to get out of the group and compete for a trophy. More than that, the day brought footballers, creators and supporters together around Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Before kick-off, the energy was exactly what you would expect from a new team: plenty of confidence, jokes about who would score and questions about how quickly we would understand one another on the pitch. I spoke with a teammate about our link-up play. We had played together before, but this was a new group and a new tournament.
Football for a cause
The video includes people involved in the event explaining why the hospital matters to them. One speaker recalls being a patient there as a child. Another describes the fundraising the event had achieved over the years. Those voices put the day into perspective. Playing at Bromley was a privilege, but the reason everyone had gathered was bigger than our results.
There were some exciting moments on the pitch, including the kind of shouted instructions and celebrations that make a tournament vlog fun to revisit. Our first attempt did not take us through the group. In the closing moments of the video, I say that honestly and look ahead to doing better next time.

For a new team, that result gives us something to work on. The day still showed what football can do when people use it to support a cause they care about. I was glad to be part of it.
